Jhe is a young Orsin that's isolated in his village. Despite his ostracization, he strives to be accepted by those around him and believes the key to this is to demonstrate his competence and willingness to protect and defend others.

Karina is the younger sister of Jhe. She's extremely popular in the village where she and Jhe reside. Deep down, she despises the village for the way they treat her brother. However, she does very little to defend him publicly. Due to this, she's often conflicted and struggles with self-loathing. She admires Jhe's resilience and his ability to pursue his goals despite the adversities he's presented with. One of her goals is to be a useful warrior like him–believing that if she had more strength, she'd be able to help defend him from the judgments of others.

Pimento is the chief of Sato Village. He's considered a bit of a legend in the village due to having fought off over 30 monsters singlehandedly. As chief of the village, he's the de facto leader of everyone and controls their internal military, how food is distributed, and other administrative tasks.
